Pell Grant Recipient Data by State, 1976-77 to 2007-08 [Spread]
This large Excel workbook contains Pell Grant recipient data by state, by institutional control, and by year, 1976 to 2008.
The data are compiled from annual Pell Grant End of Year reports prepared by the U.S. Department of Education. The recipient data included both the numbers of Pell Grant recipients and the Pell Grant dollars they received for each academic year. The Pell Grant recipient data are classified in two ways: first by location of institution, then by state of residence of the recipients. The difference between these two is net migration of Pell Grant recipients and dollars into or out of each state.

Stock and Flow of Bachelor's Degree Holders by State, 1989 to 2007 [Spread]
This is an Excel spreadsheet that uses data from the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey and National Center for Education Statistics' IPEDS survey to calculate the stock and flow of bachelor's degree holders by state between 1989 and 2007.
This approach enables the determination of net migration of bachelor's degree holders into and out of a state. This analysis helps illustrate the importance of migration of college graduates to state human capital development, which in turn largely determines state per capita personal income.
